The gentlemen archers met this day at the house of Richard Thompson in Darlington to shoot for the Golden Arrow were present, Captain James Portees, Lieutenant John Gainford, Mr John Toping, Mr Robert Hall, Mr Robert Jackson, Mr George Rickaby and Mr Thomas Kelley

Be it remembered that Mr John Gainford won the arrow this day & that Mr Robert Hall is the Lieutenant.
