The 289th Recorded Meeting in the 325th year of the Society, saw 85 Gentlemen assemble on the 24th of May 1997, to shoot with the Captain, Pete Davies, for the Ancient Scorton Silver Arrow and other Trophies. The meeting was held in Easingwold, North Yorkshire, and of the Gentlemen present 62 were longbowmen. The Arrow and the Lieutenant's Bugle were taken early in the day, Steve Sharman winning the Arrow and Noel Lawrence the Bugle. Colin Hope and Adrian Hayes took the Longbow Trophies with excellent performances. Noel Lawrence also took the Thirsk Arrow and Gold Medal for Captain of Numbers. Gary Aldred was the winner of the Gold Medal for the highest score. The Thirsk Silver Medal and the Phillips Cup went to Tony Sutton and Steve Sharman. The past Captain will donate the swear monies to his Parish; an amount of £42.85 which was collected by the Judges, Dennis Heritage and Paul Senior. After
