Pursuant to custom lots were drawn for order of shooting and in a light breeze, warm but dull weather shooting commenced at eleven o'clock. The first item of note was that the arrow of Mr M Robinson did pierce the Red thus he became Lieutenant and holder of the Silver Bugle for the ensuing year. The second item of note and be it remembered for the first time in the history of the Arrow Messrs W J Kirk and C H R Batty became Joint Captains when their 14th arrows pierced the inner gold and each arrow measured exactly the same distance from the centre, may it be also be noted that they were on the same target and members of the same club. Shooting continued until lunch when wine with an excellent fare was partaken. Be it remembered that after lunch the minutes of the last meeting were read, confirmed and duly signed by the retiring Captain. Be it remembered that a vote of thanks was recorded for those whose work had made the meeting a success. Shooting continued a further 2 hours after lunch and may it be remembered that Mr J Oldfield did on 3 consecutive ends get 2 golds, thereby creating a feat never having been previously recorded, also may it be regretfully recorded that an archer was stopped from shooting & ordered off the field for cheating. At the conclusion of the shooting tea was taken. Be it remembered that the prizes were gracefully presented by the Mistress Cutler-Mrs Bovill to whom a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded by the company. Thus a most enjoyable meeting was concluded and here follows the names of prize winners and scores of all Archers.
