Be it remembered that shooting commenced at eleven a.m. and continued for two hours in the morning and for two hours in the afternoon. Be it also remembered that this day the Reverend G Hayter, Woodmen of Arden, with his twelfth arrow was the first archer to pierce the target in the Red and thus became Lieutenant and holder of the Silver Bugle. Be it also remembered that the above named archer, with his thirty fourth arrow was the first to pierce the target in the Gold and thus became the Captain and holder of the Antient Scorton Arrow. Be it also remembered that according to the rule the Reverend G Hayter had to resign the Lieutenancy which was secured by Colonel J Aspinall Turner, North Lonsdale Archers, who scored a Red with his eighteenth arrow. Be it also remembered that luncheon was partaken of at the Ashfield Hotel and the usual bottle of wine was provided by the new Captain. Be it also remembered that the expenses of the meeting amounting to £4-17-6, according to custom, were divided among the archers. Be it also remembered that a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the members of the North Ribblesdale Archers for allowing the use of their grounds. Be it also remembered that the prizes were presented by Mrs Edgar, to whom a hearty vote of thanks was passed. |
