THE ANTIENT SCORTON SILVER ARROW BOOK


We are delighted to announce that our website has very kindly been granted special permission by Ted Hart, Secretary of the The Society of Archery-Antiquaries, to make available in digital format, the now out-of print book, "The Antient Scorton Silver Arrow" by Ben Hird (Former Captain in 1900) and which was originally published in 1972 by The Society of Archery-Antiquaries. We have needed to re-type the original book for 'PDF download'. We have also been very fortunate to enlist the support of Frank Newbould (Captain 1951) who had provided Ben Hird with the original photographs that were featured in the book. Frank still had the original negatives, (except for the front and back cover which we have had to re-scan), and has printed new photographs for us to include inside this newly re-published version. You may view the book on-line by clicking on the Blue button below - download time will be over a minute (47 pages). Alternatively, as the book is quite large, we have created a PDF (Portable Document File) that you can download to your computer, save it to your hard disk and then read the book whilst you are off-line and / or print it out and read it later at your leisure.
