Tri Centennial Commemorative Seat for Scorton Village

At the 2011 Meeting of the Society of Archers, held on 21 May, the arrangements for the purchase of a Tri Centennial Commemorative Seat for Scorton Village first put forward in 2009, received final unanimous approval and support of all members. It was regretted that what was meant to be a 'pleasant surprise for the village' had taken rather longer than anticipated due to only having annual meetings.	email the Editor

Frank Newbould who this year celebrates his 60th Anniversary from when he won the Captaincy at Scorton in 1951, will present the seat assisted by the current 2011 Captain Clive Woolley to Scorton Village through their Chairperson and representaives of the Parish Council at Scorton, at 18.30 hrs WEDNESDAY EVENING 20 July 2011 The Original Scorton Silver Arrow will be on display during the presentation before being returned to the safety of the Leeds Armouries. All Members who wish to be present, please make their way and meet up at Scorton wearing Society Blazers, ties and afterwards can partake in refreshments at the Farmers Arms (01748 812533), who offer an extensive menu of home cooked food and fine ales.
